Here along the lines surrounding the mouth, the lips and the jowl region, fillers can be placed that camouflage skin excess so that an acceptable degree of facial rejuvenation can be achieved. Certainly there are limits. Once the skin excess is over these limits then attention is appropriately redirected toward surgical intervention. 1cc or 1 syringe of a facial filling material usually costs in the range of $500-600 per syringe. It may take 2-6 syringes to gain patient satisfaction in the lower face. Whatever the volume required, facial fillers are increasingly providing a broader range of lower facial rejuvenation than possible previously and without surgery. From a plastic surgeon?s perspective, facial filler often provide adequate correction with the patient in their 30?s and 40?s or perhaps a number years after a surgical facial procedure. Whatever time frame, the facial fillers that are used most last between 6 and 12 months. Though facial fillers can obviously be rather pricey they do provide an alternative that is essentially non-surgical with little or no down time and often provide suitable correction in the lower face.
